i am fascinated with how certain authors string words together so well that it literally takes my breath away. there is an american masters program on wednesday night highlighting the life of zora neale hurston. what a woman of words, and what a life she had. i cannot wait. and in anticipation for the program, i started rereading their eyes were watching god last night. i am hooked by the opening lines of the book. i love janie. she grows so much in the book, you just want to be like her by the end...living life to the fullest, without care as to who says boo about her, and having tasted love in her life...proper love. i went to the library this morning, just because it is my favorite place to go, and picked up the anthology of maya angelou's autobiographies, starting with "i know why the caged bird sings." i think i started it once, but never finished. i love it to pieces already. she just celebrated her 80th birthday and has plans to publish another book soon. if i had a pipe dream, it would be to touch people with words that were created by me and only me. i have this urging in my soul to try, but i am not sure how. i guess i just need to write, a little bit everyday, and see what fits.
right now, i am heating up some delicious white bean chicken chili, and will continue on with my reading.
